Sellers may even want to consider hiring their own inspector first to find any unknown problems, which gives them enough time to complete the necessary repairs or slash the asking price accordingly.

Cleaning is considered the cheapest way to make a home more appealing, and homeowners should focus on fixing leaky faucets and squeaky hinges; cleaning the carpets; clearing off countertops; and replacing heating and air-conditioning filters, among other jobs.
